YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A SERVICE WRITER:
* Verify a high volume of daily invoices, checking for accuracy and completion, and ensuring services rendered match billing statements.
* Reporting to the maintenance manager, coordinate vehicle repairs by contacting the freightliner and outlining service and material needs, ensuring timely and cost-effective repairs.
* Evaluate and assess condition of leased vehicles upon return; identify issues.
* Serve as primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues with professionalism and patience.
* Work closely with the parts department to ensure the availability of necessary components for repairs.
* Maintain detailed records of service transactions, breakdown interventions, and customer communications.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A SERVICE WRITER:
* 2+ years experience in a similar role within a truck or automotive dealership, auto repair shop, transportation company, or related work environment
* Demonstrated knowledge of auto parts, repairs, and mechanics is a strong asset; education in automotive technology is a plus
* Excellent problem solving and attention to detail
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Proficiency with automotive billing and invoicing software
* Comfortable performing basic calculations to ensure invoice accuracy
* Eager and able to take direction, learn new skills, and work under pressure
* Collaborate across departments to improve procedures and client satisfaction
