YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS AN ENGINEER-IN-TRAINING:
* Design and produce electrical schematics, conceptual designs and construction drawings using AutoCAD .
* Learn and apply knowledge of electrical engineering, building codes and design principles, including calculating building electrical loads, power distribution, lighting, communication, and fire alarm systems.
* Prepare and submit design drawings, applications, and other paperwork to appropriate regulatory bodies, and follow up as required.
* Prepare feasibility, summary of recommendations, and other reports for clients to assist in higher level planning and decision-making.
* Attend client meetings and site visits, and coordinate with other professionals.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN AN ENGINEER-IN-TRAINING:
* Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent
* Eligibility to register as an EIT with APEGM
* Experience using AutoCAD or similar program
* Driver’s License and access to a vehicle (no bus service)
* Some travel within Manitoba may be required
* Conscientiousness, with strong attention to detail, prioritization and organizational skills; can learn quickly, retain and apply new information
* Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
* Self-motivated, high level of initiative and sound judgment
* Builds positive relationships with clients, coworkers, and external contacts
* Additional IT/computer skills are considered an asset
