WHAT YOU WILL DO AS CONTROLLER:
* Produce reports (weekly, monthly, and annual), financial statements, monthly cash flow reporting, budget reporting, and balance sheets.
* Manage project-based accounting and budgeting projects.
* Oversee front desk bookkeeping activities.
* Oversee data processing, maintain accounting systems and implement changes as required
* Prepare accounts payable, GST returns, and year-end working paper files
* Remain responsible for quarterly reporting to financial institution and compliance with government reporting requirements and tax filing.
* Support and supervise front desk staff; provide performance reviews.
* Strategize and offer insights to optimize project efficiency and cost savings.
* Act as primary liaison with auditing company.
* Collaborate with leadership for compensation and performance management.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A CONTROLLER:
* Either currently holds a CPA designation or is in process
* A positive, driven, and resilient attitude
* A commitment toward hitting deadlines and getting the job done
* Experience in the transportation industry an asset
