Business Analyst

Ducks Unlimited Canada, is seeking a Business Analyst to support their fundraising team. In this role, you will be responsible for on-going analysis of fundraising activities to improve their efficiency and effectiveness, leading the fundraising team through annual financial planning processes, financial reporting and risk management. * Prepare and manage annual financial plan
* Provide timely financial, operational management and variance analysis on fundraising activities to support decision making, with the aim to improved fundraising programs. 
* Ensuring fundraising activities are in compliance with the organization’s policies, as well as meeting funding restrictions
* Accounting for fundraising activities and department, including preparation of financial reporting
* Ensure effective controls are in place for processes related to recording fundraising transactions
* Where appropriate, recommend and/or develop reporting and analytical tools to support the team
* Manage, mentor and train junior team members, as well as volunteers.
* Assist in the strategic planning process 

* 4+ years relevant experience in an analytical, accounting or finance role
* Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, IT or Analytics. Active enrollment in the CPA program is an asset 
* Proven analytical skills, combined with experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
* Advanced systems skills, including Excel and previous experience with Dynamics AX or other ERP systems
* Strong ability to communicate with people across all levels of an organization
* Proven ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment
* Ability to work effectively within a matrixed organization
* Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred
