IT Support Engineer (Winnipeg, Manitoba | Workplace Type: Hybrid)

As the IT Support Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain the organization’s IT system, which includes developing solutions in client environments. You will manage the overall success of the helpdesk for internal and external users. This means you will track maintenance tasks across the department and offer training as needed.

Their IT department always faces unique challenges in building new data-collection processes to enhance their scientific understanding. Some on-call hours are required. 

* Oversee all aspects of PC-based operating systems and software that the organization uses
* Configure and maintain servers, security, data storage, and backup recovery plans
* Support the IT Manager and various IT-related projects
* Research and procure office hardware
* Manage vendor relationships
* Setup new users’ PCs and provide any troubleshooting, repair, or training services as necessary
* Document processes, procedures, and solutions for other staff to use

* Post-secondary education in computer science or a related field; a degree is an asset
* 10+ years of experience in IT
* 5+ years of experience in IT Service Management (ITSM) or IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
* Expert-level knowledge of software development within Microsoft environments
