As Ice Quality & Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a hands-on leadership role overseeing the quality of ice surfaces, rink environments, and facility maintenance. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you’ll manage ice plant operations, maintain Zambonis and HVAC systems, supervise staff, and ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS ICE QUALITY & MAINTENANCE MANAGER:
* Oversee operation, maintenance, and accurate record-keeping for glycol and water treatment plants.
* Respond swiftly and decisively to equipment failures or plant shutdowns.
* Supervise HVAC contractors and Zamboni maintenance (internal and external).
* In collaboration with Facility Operations crew, maintain high-quality ice surfaces (including operating the Zamboni approx. 32+ hours/week), and ensure excellent condition of boards, glass, nets, benches, change rooms, walkways, and surrounding areas.
* Develop and enforce a rigorous cleaning schedule for all areas around ice surfaces and other assigned spaces.
* Manage inventory of materials, supplies, tools, and equipment
* Oversee maintenance of the entire facility and grounds.
* Create and manage shift and vacation schedules for Facility Operations staff.
* Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing development of team members with support from the Director and HR.
* Submit bi-weekly payroll reports to HR and Finance.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN AN ICE QUALITY & MAINTENANCE MANAGER:
* Three years’ experience maintaining and monitoring refrigeration equipment
* Wide range of skills to perform a variety of maintenance duties
* Three years’ experience maintaining ice surfaces and using ice resurfacing equipment
* Refrigeration License and/or 5th class Power Engineering Certificate
* Must be 18 years of age of older
* Possess a valid driver’s license
* Ability to work in cold air and outdoor environments
* Ability to lift heavy objects, climb stairs, ladders or bend, kneel and reach
