With our Mission of being a gathering place providing excellence in sport and recreation for everyone, Dakota Community Centre is one of the largest and most successful community centre operations in the City of Winnipeg. Serving nearly 12,000 households in South St. Vital for more than 30 years, Dakota CC offers a broad range of sport, recreation and social programs for catchment area members and beyond. Our facility features the Jonathan Toews Sportsplex, which includes a twin ice pad, gymnasium, office space and our newly renovated event centre and a 60,000 sq.ft. multi-purpose Fieldhouse which features an indoor track, hardwood floor gymnasium and other amenities.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER:
* Partner with the leadership team to execute on the talent strategy including recruitment and selection, on-boarding, engagement and retention
* Support management in expediting new employee onboarding and orientation programs to enhance the employee experience and support retention
* Anticipate legislative changes affecting HR policies; recommend and rewrite policies to include changes
* Assist in supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the organization
* Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR related matters including performance management, employee relations and policy interpretation
* Support management and staff through the performance measurement process to evaluate employee objective-setting, performance and personal growth
* Analyze and stay current with industry trends, legislation, compensation programs, hiring strategies
* Develop and execute on employee engagement initiatives such as social committee, acknowledging employment milestones, etc.
* Support the team during organization change and employee development
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER:
* Post secondary diploma or certificate in Human Resource Management, preference for those that have obtained a CPHR designation
* 7+ years of progressive Human Resource Generalist experience, preferably developing and leading human resource operations
* Proven ability to develop and implement new human resource programs that support employee engagement and recognition
* Demonstrated capability of driving constant change and supporting organizational growth through HR best practices
* Confidence, awareness, resilience and passion
