YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS GLOBAL PURCHASING MANAGER:
* Oversee purchasing procurement activities for a variety of industrial raw materials and hardware components (sheet metals, tubes, powder coat paints, welding supplies, hardware, and other materials required for day-to-day manufacturing)
* Identify and develop relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery of materials
* Develop and execute supplier base strategies, including supplier audits, pricing negotiations, research and acquisition of secondary suppliers and new supplier onboarding
* Prepare, research, and submit bid packages, conducting individual and group negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal agreements
* Lead, develop, and monitor personnel within the purchasing function, ensuring efficiency and alignment with business objectives
* Manage purchase agreements and contracts, continuously seeking new supplier opportunities to enhance supply chain performance
* Ensure effective inventory management by overseeing monthly, quarterly, and yearly inventory processes to maintain accurate and cost-effective stock levels
* Collaborate with the accounting department to analyze the cost of finished goods, raw materials, and WIP (Work in Progress) inventory to enhance procurement strategies
* Work cross-functionally with Sales, Quality, Finance, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to implement supplier, pricing, and material changes effectively
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A GLOBAL PURCHASING MANAGER:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, purchasing management, strategic buying. Preference will be given to those individuals that have experience in the Industrial and/or Steel manufacturing sector
* Post secondary education in supply chain management would be an asset
* Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable supplier agreements
* Proven knowledge and experience in Manufacturing and Metal Fabrication
* Working knowledge with ERP systems a must have
* Demonstrated success in leading teams through change management in a fast-paced industrial environment
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to build and maintain internal and external partnerships
