YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS BOOKKEEPER / ADMIN ASSISTANT:
* Prepare bank deposits, cheques, and monthly reconciliations; maintain accurate financial records using Simply Accounting. 
* Understand and follow accepted accounting practices for day-to-day financial operations.
* Answer phones, manage general office duties, and support a small, quiet office environment.
* Request information/Send newsletters, certificates, and invoices; organize and support training programs and member communications.
* Maintain updated contact lists, member info, and internal spreadsheets; collect data for reporting and metrics.
* Coordinate logistics for board meetings and events, including food, setup, and registration.
* Operate with minimal supervision.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A BOOKKEEPER / ADMIN ASSISTANT:
* Solid understanding of accounting principles and experience with accounting software and SharePoint. 
* Clear and professional verbal and written English skills; able to communicate appropriately with both members and board.
* High level of accuracy in handling numbers, benefits, and membership records; strong data entry skills.
* Ability to assess data, solve problems, and stay organized while managing multiple tasks.
* Common sense and judgment when dealing with sensitive information; calm and respectful personality.
* Easy to work with, gets along well with others, and open to learning and growing within the role.
