MANAGER, CORPORATE LAB SERVICES (Winnipeg, Manitoba)
Do you have a strong background in polymer science and an equally strong interest in research and development of new products in this sector? This rapidly growing developer of polymer products for customers across the globe is looking for a Manager of Corporate Lab Services, based in Winnipeg. In this role, you will lead and manage operations for four lab facilities in Canada and the US, ensuring product integrity meets company and customer standards. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Oversee all operations of four lab facilities; manage and mentor chemist and technician teams at all locations:
* 40% - Work with customers and address issues (including root cause analyses)
* 20% - Work with suppliers of raw materials: negotiate costs, maintain optimal levels of raw materials, ensure raw materials meet customer and manufacturing requirements
* 15% - Conduct ongoing research and development to improve products and ensure they can’t be compromised
* 15% - Manage and troubleshoot issues with production processes and lab equipment; ensure staffing levels and equipment functionality meet customer and manufacturing requirements
* 10% - Oversee destructive and other testing on polymer products and proactively identify issues, including non-conformance


MUST HAVES
* Post-secondary degree in chemistry or material engineering, with a specialization in polymer science
* 7+ years of experience related to printing and/or inks or coatings formulation
* Proven leadership experience in a cross-functional role, plus experience leading high-profile projects
* Research and development experience within a lab or production environment
* Solid knowledge on processes related to security inks and applied coatings, including testing methodology
* Proven ability to communication with professionals at all levels of an organization
* Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
* Track record of strong mentorship and creating a collaborative work environment
